Know Your Rights

Those are amazing YouTube videos i found while i was hanging around on YouTube, very interesting and very informative and would help many people around.

Those videos are so empowering that you simply can't afford not to hear them. You don't get taught this stuff at school because the elite don't want you to be empowered. They want YOU to be good little sheep who will serve THEIR needs. Get informed. Knowledge is Power!

The main idea about those videos that police may violate your human rights because you really don't know what is your rights and what is not, and if you know your rights you can stop anyone one trying to violate your rights on his limits , that is is the power of knowledge that many governments don't want you to have

embed video is disable :( which i was hoping so much to embed them in my blog post , so any way if you want to download them you can from links below

A Chinese-language blog UMPCFeaver posted pictures recently that its claims are the first ever photos from a functioning next-generation iPhone. The site translated through Google displays images of iPhone OS 3.0 running some of the rumored new iPhone features.

According to the report, the new iPhone contains an auto-focusing camera that uses an on-screen square that can be moved around with a combination of taps and dragging to choose the object to focus on. The rumored digital compass and its software is shown as well. Other features in iPhone OS 3.0 are demoed on the site like MMS--supporting video and photos, copy and paste, the Voice Recorder app, etc.

What is New in PSP Go So Far

PSP Go: What we know so farSome Information Which leaked Out

Details of Sony's new PSP Go have leaked ahead of the company's Tuesday press conference in a big way, with photos and videos now widely circulating on the Internet. And while we don't yet have a comprehensive list of the new PSP's feature list, the leaked info gives us a pretty good idea of what we can expect--including hints of several new games.

The leaked Qore video is embedded below. Host Veronica Belmont talks to John Koller, director of hardware marketing at Sony Computer Entertainment America, about the forthcoming PSP Go.

From the video, here's what we can glean so far:

Form factor: The PSP Go has a 3.8-inch wide screen (versus 4.3-inch on all previous PSP models). It's said to be 43 percent lighter than the PSP 3000, which means it would tip the scales at about 3.8 ounces. The PSP Go design is very reminiscent of the Sony Mylo--the screen slides up to reveal the controls.

Storage: The Go will offer 16GB of built-in flash memory, and it's expandable via a Memory Stick Micro slot. There is no UMD (Universal Media Disc) drive on the PSP Go. While that no doubt allows for the smaller size (and, we hope, the potential for better battery life), it also means there's no way to play existing PSP software you might own on the PSP Go.

Controls: While the layout may be different, the control scheme on the PSP Go looks to be little changed from earlier PSP models: a 4-way d-pad on the left, the standard quartet of geometrically coded Sony controls (circle, square, cross, triangle) on the right, select/start buttons in the center, and the PlayStation "home" button to the left of the screen.

A second analog control is always at or near the top of wish lists for PSP redesigns, so its absence is all but certain to get a thumbs-down from gamers. The single stick's placement--closer to the center of the control deck rather than the outside right, where it sits on earlier PSPs--could also be problematic. (That said, the Go control layout is more closely aligned to that of a traditional full-size PlayStation controller.)

None of the leaked info mentions touch-screen support, leading us to assume that the feature is not present on the PSP Go.

Wireless: In addition to certain Wi-Fi support, the PSP Go adds Bluetooth capability to the Sony handheld platform for the first time. In addition to support for standard Bluetooth headsets (and, presumably, A2DP headphones and speakers), Koller also specifies the ability to tether the PSP Go to a Bluetooth-enabled cell phone. The advantage of that isn't highlighted, but that would potentially allow Web browsing and online gaming via a tethered phone with a 3G data connection (when Wi-Fi access wasn't available).

Games: On the leaked Qore video, Koller specifically mentions PSP versions of Little Big Planet, Jak and Daxter, Gran Turismo, and "a new Metal Gear Solid." Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier had been previously announced and a PSP Gran Turismo was originally shown off way back at E3 2004. A PSP-optimized Little Big Planet has been all but confirmed, and a new MGS game will likely be welcomed with open arms (assuming it's more like the action-packed Portable Ops and less like the bizarre Metal Gear Acid).

Koller also emphasizes casual games in the interview, implying that Sony would like to see the PSP platform become home to shorter, simpler "pick up and play" games that can be downloaded from the PlayStation Store on a whim.

As for the downloadable titles: a wide selection already exists on the PlayStation Store for existing PSP owners, and it's long been clear that Sony has been moving away from UMD. The recent high-profile Patapon 2 game, for instance, is download-only.

Digital media support: Presumably, the Go will have at least the same baseline media features as the existing PSP models, which includes ample support for music, video, and photo files. Koller also mentions downloadable movies and TV shows (already available for purchase from Sony's existing iTunes-like PlayStation Store). Despite rumors of a downloadable music store, an online music option is notably not mentioned.

PS3 integration: Again, it appears that the existing interoperability between the PS3 and the PSP line will be carried over to the PSP Go. That includes the ability to cross-load some games and media, as well as the Remote Play option (access PS3-based content from the PSP over the Internet).

Price and availability: Koller says that it's coming in the fall of 2009; price isn't specified. He also confirms that the PSP 3000 will stay on the market concurrently. That, at least, is comfort for those of us who like to buy cheap used UMD-based PSP games, which are widely available.

Attention Levels Increase When Neurons 'Fire' Together

The human eye is the first element of a sensor...Image via Wikipedia

The phenomenon also helps them ignore distractions

The human brain's ability to focus on an important issue, process, or decision, while ignoring everything else has puzzled neuroscientists for a long time, who could not understand how this mechanism worked. They had a few hints as to the brain regions involved in the process, but concrete scientific pieces of evidence were missing altogether. Now, in a new study, experts from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) have managed to establish that, in order for us to remain attentive to something, a number of regions in the brain have to “fire up” their neurons in sync.

More specifically, they explain in a recent paper published in the journal Science, the control center of the brain actually syncs up with the visual cortex, which is responsible for receiving most of the information from the outside world. When we are poised on doing something, the visual cortex reacts at commands coming in from somewhere else in the brain, and focuses the eye on that certain thing, completely oblivious to others around it. The research team has succeeded in demonstrating that the prefrontal cortex manages to successfully redirect attention in such a manner, that we focus it better on the object of interest.

“It’s been known that the prefrontal cortex plays an important role in focusing our attention, but the mystery was how. Now we have some insight into how it has that focusing role – through this synchrony with our sensory systems,” the MIT neuroscientist who led the new research, Robert Desimone, explained. The expert added that the correlations between the prefrontal (PFC) and the visual cortices were done via high-frequency brainwaves.

As they've now managed to identify the control center in the brain, as well as its actual acting mechanism, in the future, experts might be able to create new and improved medicines for conditions such as the attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), which is believed to be caused by various regions of the brain firing out of sync. When this happens, sufferers cannot concentrate, and the symptoms of the condition appear, Wired informs.

The conclusions “provide a possible explanation for how attention-dependent synchrony might be brought about by the [PFC], and how the communication between distant neurons might be facilitated by attention. This is an important step indeed,” Stanford University Neurobiologist Tirin Moore, who has not been part of the recent investigation, concluded.

78 Year Old Iron Nun Races Triathlons

Iron-Nun Madonna Buder continues to race triathlons, says there’s no reason for her to stopMadonna Buder says there’s no reason why she should stop

We often hear that the mind is more powerful than body, yet we rarely do anything to prove that it’s true. Sister Madonna Buder, for one, is determined to show that age has nothing to do with her dedication to staying fit and physically able of pulling challenges that would be a headache even for young people, as ABC News informs.

Buder is 78 years old and she continues to race triathlons. What’s even better, the nun, now known as Iron-Nun for her abnegation and immense dedication, says that she sees no reason to stop taking part in this type of events, since she has God on her side and her very strong will to aid her as well. She may seem a bit frail and slender, but what pushes her is more powerful than most things we have seen.

“At 78 years old, Buder races triathlons. Among the most grueling sporting events in the world, triathlons consist of swimming, cycling and running in succession. She has participated in more than 320 of them – 40 of which were Ironman class events consisting of a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bike ride and a 26-mile run.” ABC says of this extraordinary woman. “Well, you know, as long as God is giving you your health, there’s no reason to stop.” the only nun in workout clothes ever states for the aforementioned publication.

In setting this wonderful example, nun Buder is not alone. Just recently, the case of an 83-year-old yoga instructor who was still able to bend like rubber, and complete and hold poses that many of her younger students could not was also made public. Bette Calman too insisted that age had nothing to do with one’s ability to face physical challenges, since this particular ability was rather linked to mental strength than with anything else. She couldn’t see the point of “retiring” either, just like nun Buder.

Even more recently, sexagenarian Jerry Hayes also set an example in terms of what will power can do, after losing about 48% of his own body weight following elimination in the first week of reality show The Biggest Loser. Hayes was booted from the show after collapsing from the strain of working out, but completed the workout routine in his own home – and then got to win the $100,000 prize for the most weight lost outside the major competition, along with the admiration and respect of an entire country. He too believes age is but a number.

Black Hole 'Ghost' Revealed by the Chandra Telescope

The The formation has been noticed in X-ray wavelengths

Astronomers observing the skies with NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory recently discovered one of the most peculiar formations in the Universe, and the first one of its class ever to be found, an X-ray source that existed about three billion light-years after the creation of the Universe, and was located some ten billion light-years away. While not spectacular in itself, the strange formation could give researchers more thorough insight into the type of events that were going on in the early Universe.

The huge source, most likely the direct result of a black hole explosion, was dubbed HDF 130, and was determined to have lived in a time when the Cosmos was producing galaxies and black holes at a frantic pace. According to the figures supplied by Chandra, the radiation source span 2.2 million light-years, and is shaped somewhat like a cigar. Basically, the experts say, after the black hole had a massive outburst, blowing with the power of about one billion supernovae, all radiation faded away over time, and only the present diffuse source of X-rays remained.

“We'd seen this fuzzy object a few years ago, but didn't realize until now that we were seeing a ghost. It's not out there to haunt us, rather it's telling us something – in this case what was happening in this galaxy billions of year ago,” Cambridge University expert Andy Fabian, who is one of the scientists that was involved in the discovery, explained.

According to the researcher, the formation was generated by a very strong outbreak from the supermassive black hole nearby, which must have emitted streams of super-energetic particles from its poles, at nearly the speed of light. The faint X-ray signature that it still presents today is only a shadow, or “ghost,” of the real-life event, which must have affected solar systems, stars, cosmic gas, dust and other celestial bodies on a wide range.

“This ghost tells us about the black hole's eruption long after it has died. This means we don't have to catch the black holes in the act to witness the big impact they have,” team member Scott Chapman explained. “This result hints that the X-ray sky should be littered with such ghosts, especially if black hole eruptions are as common as we think they are in the early universe,” another member of the team, Caitlin Casey, concluded. Both researchers are from Cambridge University, Space informs.

Madagascar Reveals New Species of Lemur

Lemurs that live today are fairly small compared with their giant forefathersIt's the first addition in the last century

A new species of extinct giant lemurs was recently discovered in Madagascar, off the coast of southeastern Africa. A new report states that this was the first species to be added to the genus in more than a century, which makes this discovery all the more important. The new “addition” has been speculated on for the past two decades, but, until now, researchers have had no clear evidence that the animal existed in other places than in theory.

Until now, some 71 species of lemurs have been counted around Madagascar, which is the only place in the world where these animals live. According to Paleontologist Dominique Gommery, from the Paris, France-based National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), the new type of lemur was named Palaeopropithecus kelyus. The animal is not a fossil in the strictest meaning of the term, in that it only disappeared a short while ago, and fossils have not yet had time to get mineralized. But the bones that do get found may, indeed, help researchers in understanding how biodiversity came to evolve so strongly in places such as Madagascar, LiveScience reports.

In addition to P. kelyus, two other types of subfossils have also been found over the past few years. Together, they may provide naturalists with clues as to why their species evolved the way it did, and could also offer more insight into how the ecosystem of their time interacted with the new one. This could allow scientists to determine how exactly it was that some older species emerged victorious and thrived, while others, maybe even new ones, perished altogether.

The scientists in charge of the study said that the giant lemurs were very similar to South American sloths, and that they usually moved from tree to tree using all four of their legs, and with their head dangling downwards. P. kelyus, though a bit smaller than the other two giant lemur species (P. ingens and P. maximus), still weighed about 77 pounds (35 kg). For comparison, the experts added, the largest lemur living at the moment only weighed 22 pounds (ten kilograms), and was called the Indri.

Experts Create Map of Arctic Oil and Gas Deposits

USGS reports that 33 percent of the world's undiscovered oil deposits may be located in the ArcticThe "black gold" will soon be disputed

According to geological estimates, between 30 and 35 percent of the world's undiscovered oil deposits are found in the Arctic, alongside 13 percent of the globe's natural gas reserves. With the effects that global warming has on the North Pole, the ice barriers that once made it impossible to even consider setting up exploitations in the region are failing, which means that, pretty soon, we could witness the construction of extraction platforms in areas that were once taboo for the industry. A new research, published recently in the journal Science, managed to finally assess the resources of the Arctic region.

Last year, an investigation by experts at the US Geological Survey (USGS) hinted at the riches that lay underneath the ice sheets, but those numbers were only estimates. The new paper comes with much more accurate data, to amend the Circum-Arctic Resource Appraisal. The study is the result of a very detailed geological investigation, conducted by renowned experts worldwide. However, the document does not state whether the resources are recoverable or not, but simply enumerates places and quantities. Independent investigations are required for each of the locations, to determine their full economic potential, the experts say.

In addition, the research does not highlight the potential damage to the environment and wildlife that opening up new drilling platforms in otherwise pristine areas might cause. The numbers only “give us insight into future petroleum resources, political relations, and places that environmental conflicts may occur,” the leader of the new study, Donald Gautier, explains, quoted by Nature News. “The study represents an excellent overall estimate of Arctic resources,” Natural Resources Canada expert Jacob Verhoef adds.

Between 770 and 2,990 trillion cubic feet (22-86 trillion cubic meters) of natural gas may “reside” in the Arctic region, the USGS paper has found. These numbers amount to about 30 percent of the world's yet-undiscovered reserves of natural gas. “The South Kara Sea, Russia, is probably the richest basin in the Arctic, in terms of undiscovered resources,” Gautier tells, adding that the territory, which belongs to the Russian Federation, will probably start being exploited over the next few years.

Additional estimates show that Alaska holds most untapped oil resources, of between 22 to around 256 billion barrels. The reserves are not enough to shift the Middle East's control of global oil supply and demand, but it could give the US and other countries a bit of leverage in future negotiations. “The world's future energy supply will not be determined by Arctic oil. But the future economic prosperity of the Arctic nations will be greatly affected by oil resources,” Gautier explains.

“Conventional oil and gas are just a small part of the Arctic's vast energy resources. These sources [methane, tar sands, oil shales, heavy oil and gas hydrates] were not part of the scope of the study, nor were the Arctic's giant wind, wave, geothermal, hydro-electric and tidal energy potential,” the Chairman of the US Arctic Research Commission, Mead Treadwell, concludes. In other words, the region has a great potential for producing both traditional an renewable forms of energy for decades to come.

Pattinson and Stewart Share First Kiss in ‘New Moon’

Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Edward (Robert Pattinson) share their first kiss in “New Moon”Bella is reunited with Edward
“Twilight” fans must be having a blast right now, what with the many details coming their way on the much-anticipated sequel “New Moon.” Following the release of the official poster (more or less the way Summit wanted it to take place) and several interviews on the plot of the film, just released on-set photos from Italy show main stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart sharing their first passionate kiss and embrace, as Twilight Source can confirm.

As it’s already known, lovers Bella and Edward spend most of “New Moon” apart – which only makes the prospect of their reunion all the more appealing. In this sense, the photos that have just made their way on the Internet seem to prove, beyond any trace of doubt that, when Edward gets to hold Bella again, there will be few dry eyes left in the house. Add to this that Pattinson is also revealing his six-pack and strong arms in the same scene, and anyone can understand why he’s so popular with a certain segment (a very large one as well) of the population.

The photos also show Pattinson with black dots on his face and arms, which are CGI markers that will be used in post-production for several enhancements, the same source says. Still, from what the photos reveal, this scene will probably turn to be a major tearjerker even without anything added in the editing room afterwards, several fan-run e-zines point out, including TS and Twilight Lexicon, two of the biggest communities dedicated exclusively to “Twilight.”

As we also wrote the other day, the entire “New Moon” cast moved to Italy to continue shooting scenes for the film. At the same time, reports in the media have it that many of the actors have concluded their parts for the film, which means the highly anticipated sequel is nearing completion, just in time to go in the studio for post-production work ahead of the November release.

Speaking of release, fans should keep an eye out for this year’s MTV Movie Awards ceremony, since sources claim that it is then that they will be shown the first footage from “New Moon” – one minute of completed footage, special effects and music included. What’s more, Robert Pattinson himself is said to take the stage with co-stars Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner to introduce the short – but much welcome – clip, so stay tuned here for more details on this, perhaps even an official announcement from MTV or Summit Entertainment.

13 Million Call of Duty 4 Players on Xbox Live

Call of duty 4 very popular online game
The Call of Duty franchise was the same as any ordinary first-person shooter series that tackled World War II, up to the fourth installment, dubbed Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. By simply bringing the series into the present day, its developer, Infinity Ward, and its publisher, Activision, experienced a big amount of success in both sales and popularity.

As a new testimony to the big number of fans that this two-year-old game has gathered, the community manager from Infinity Ward, Robert Bowling, has revealed that there are over 13 million unique users on the Xbox 360 console alone. He goes on to say that there has been a huge demand from January, when the total number of Xbox 360 CoD 4 players was at around 10 million.

In a podcast with Xbox 360 community manager Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb, Bowling reveals, “Call of Duty 4 on Xbox Live just exploded. I mean right now we're at 13 million unique users on 360 and that's insane.” Coupled with the impressive increase, it seems that fans are still amazed by this spectacular video game.

In terms of other platforms, the PlayStation 3 users are at around 4,3 million, but the numbers are from January, and a growth might have also occurred from the Sony side. PC gamers are certain to have increased in numbers as Modern Warfare was always present in the weekly PC sales charts.

This boost further cements the fact that the next game in the series, Modern Warfare 2, will become even more popular around the world and will break all sales records, as Activision and Infinity Ward executives have revealed over the weeks. Until November 10 though, you can still keep playing the first Modern Warfare or, if you long for World War II, you can experience the Treyarch-developed CoD: World at War.

Teachers Leave Schools with Inflow of Black Students

A new study shows that American teachers would rather work in a White-dominated classroom, than in one where African Americans are represented as wellAll good teachers apparently approve

According to the first study ever to assess the behavior of high-quality teachers in American schools, top educators are very likely to leave the institutions that are experiencing an affluence of African American students. In other words, whenever a learning institution – that is supposed to offer equal opportunities for everybody – gets more Black students, the best teachers move away, presumably to schools where White children are predominant. The new research paper was authored by Cornell University expert C. Kirabo Jackson, and will appear in a forthcoming issue of the Journal of Labor Economics.

“It's well established that schools with large minority populations tend to have lower quality teachers. But it is unclear whether these schools are merely located in areas with a paucity of quality teachers, whether quality teachers avoid these schools because of the neighborhood or economic factors surrounding a school, or whether there is a direct relationship between student characteristics and teacher quality,” the expert wondered.

According to the troubling results, it would appear that it's not the neighborhoods in themselves that keep quality teachers away, but the race or ethnicity of the students themselves. And the correlation was most obvious in the case of the African American ones. “This is particularly sobering because it implies that, all else equal, black students will systematically receive lower quality instruction. This relationship may be a substantial contributor to the black-white achievement gap in American schools,” he added. “This study implies teachers may prefer a student body that is more white and less black.”

For the new research, Jackson used data he collected from the North Carolina Education Research Data Center, focused on the Charlotte-Mecklenberg school district, in North Carolina, PhysOrg reports. In 2002, the minority population in predominantly Black schools was distributed evenly to schools around the area, which meant that some of these institutions suddenly received an inflow of African Americans in their classrooms. And that was the point at which some of the best teachers in those institutions simply left or asked to be reassigned.

Many Stem Cell Lines Could Become Off-Limits

Under Bush, some 21 lines of stem cells were eligible for NIH funding, out of more than 750 in the world todayExperts fear new legislation could cripple innovation

Bioengineers and geneticists in the United States are currently worried that, under the new National Institutes of Health (NIH) guidelines currently under development, none of the existing lines of stem cells could benefit from federal funding. The strict informed-consent provisions in the new documents would make it virtually impossible for any of these lines to be further researched, a large number of scientists argues. If that happens, the situation will grow more desperate under Obama than when Bush was president. The former administration severely restricted funding for this type of science, yielding to pressures from religious groups, which argued that this kind of research should be stopped.

“If adopted as written – and we don't think they will be – [the new rules] would make it virtually impossible for any lines that exist now to be eligible for federal funding,” the President of the Coalition for the Advancement of Medical Research (CAMR), Amy Comstock Rick, explained. The initiative is a large consortium of disease organizations, scientific societies and universities, all of which are in favor of and support stem cell research. They also argue that the federal government needs to understand that stem cells are the way of the future, and that cures for a wide range of diseases could be identified by making use of various lines, Nature News reports.

“Even an initial analysis of the 21 NIH-approved cell lines shows that the vast majority would not be available for NIH funding under a strict interpretation of the draft NIH guidelines. Hopefully, the NIH will revise their draft to grandfather in the hundreds of existing lines that have been derived under the highest standards of their time,” a Children's Hospital Boston stem cell researcher, George Daley, said of the lines that were approved by the NIH under former President George W. Bush. The situation is very tense at this point, with religious groups also stepping in and running their usual interference, saying that stem cell research as a whole should be stopped.

Naturally, that would be like sawing off the bough on which one is sitting. And, when considering that some religious groups do not even go to the hospitals when they are sick, and would rather die than enlist the help of a professional, under the reason that “God wants it,” it stands to reason that thousands of comments saying that stem cells are immoral can be safely ignored, tucked away, and never spoken of again. However, a large part of the letters the NIH received over the 30-day public discussion period were from legitimate scientists, worried that even fewer lines than in the Bush-era could soon become available for legitimate research.

Konami Unveils Big Boss - Countdown

New Big BossEnding on June 1

The Konami countdown related to Metal Gear has offered gamers some new images and one letter to speculate about. An inspection of the images introduced shows a close up of Big Boss and a letter like R or P flashing on the screen.

Big Boss is one of the most important characters in the initial Metal Gear game, as he commands Solid Snake on his missions. He later turns out to be an antagonist of Snake only for the player to learn afterwards that Snake is actually a clone of Big Boss, who is seen as the best fighter of the XX century.

He even serves as the main character for two prequel games, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, and Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops. The character also makes an appearance in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.

Big Boss' introduction might mean that the next Metal Gear is a sort of prequel, telling a story that involves him and Raiden, probably offering details on their lives outside their interactions with Solid Snake.

It's interesting to note that Famitsu, the quintessential Japanese videogaming magazine, ran an interview with Hideo Kojima and a lot of gamers thought that he would be talking at length about his upcoming project. Those who have been expecting translations of the interview to offer big reveals will be disappointed to know that most of it is blanked out, with only some of the images being interesting, as they depict Raiden, another character that could feature heavily in the next Metal Gear videogames.

The latest countdown clock on the teaser site will end its run on June 1, presumably so that Konami and Kojima can dispel all the rumors and announce, officially, what they have planned for the near future. Maybe we could get a trailer or even an E3 demo of the upcoming project.

Skinny Jeans Cause Tingling Thigh Syndrome

Skinny jeans plus high heels combo is guaranteed to create the tingling thigh sensationMore women complain of numbness and tingly sensation when wearing tight jeans

Fashion is a killer – this is precisely the kind of statement that we’d expect a critic to make, or even some eccentric designer that has his models walk in surreal shoes while dressed in shower curtains. Still, it’s the doctors who are saying it, as a new study comes to show that wearing skinny jeans can cause the tingling thigh syndrome, MSNBC informs.

According to the recently made public study, more and more women complain of weird sensations in their legs, but only after wearing too tight jeans. This happens, experts say, because the material applies considerable pressure and cuts off the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve, which causes the numbing and tingling sensation throughout the thigh. The combination of tight jeans with high heels is all the more dangerous in this sense, since wearing heels forces the woman to push the pelvis forward and, thus, to apply more pressure on the nerve.

“The nerve, in some people, is susceptible to compression.” Dr. John England, a New Orleans neurologist and a member of the American Academy of Neurology, explains for the aforementioned media outlet. “It is a pure sensory nerve – it doesn’t go to muscles or provide strength. Anything that is tight around there could potentially compress the nerve that goes there.” Dr. England further explains, adding that the nerve runs “from the outside of the pelvis and through the thigh.”

It’s not only women who wear skinny jeans that are exposed to this rather unpleasant sensation, since it is an occupational hazard for construction workers and policemen, who usually have heavy belts hung around their waistline. Pregnant women and obese people also suffer from this syndrome, but it’s with women in tight jeans that the number of complaints with doctors has increased considerably in recent months.

The good news is, though, that the tingly and numbing sensation in the thigh is nothing permanent and there is no damage done in the long run. “Typically it’s not permanent. The key is, you remove the pressure, and the nerve regenerates.” Dr. William Madosky, a chiropractic physician in Richmond Heights, Mo., says for MSNBC. Still, women should perhaps try not to wear too tight jeans on a daily basis if they wish to avoid the discomfort of standing up from the chair and not feeling their legs, researchers conclude by saying.
